We are very happy to share that one of our JI Core 50 Members, Adam Fulford, helped launch an online store called My Shuraku Nakatsugawa, which sells products from a small village in the mountains of Yamagata Prefecture. At least 200 yen from each purchase will help support the Future Committee, comprised of a group of local leaders, which works to connect the people of Nakatsugawa to the broader international community. For every purchase made, you will also receive a special Nakatsugawa post card!
Currently, the online store sells incredible snow potatoes, which are matured for two months in a yukimoro, which is a traditional Japanese cold storage facility that uses snow to improve flavor while keeping the food fresh. You can purchase your batch of local snow potatoes HERE and savor their beautifully mellow taste developed through this natural refrigeration method!
Stay tuned for more local products to become available on the online store soon!
**Please note that My Shuraku Nakatsugawa can only ship to addresses in Japan.
