Current Job Title: Co-Founder
Areas of Expertise: Travel consulting

Education: International Relations (BA Hons)
Language Ability: Native English, good Japanese conversational

Favorite Thing About Living in Japan: Other than the food and incredible diversity of the natural landscape, I love that not a week goes by that I don’t see something that surprises, delights, entertains me, or makes me question my beliefs
Favorite Place to Visit in Japan: So many places! But if I had to pick one it would be the Izu Peninsula – lovely beaches, beautiful walks, delicious seafood, rustic onsen and interesting history. Plus it is close enough to Tokyo to visit frequently

BIO: As a successful consultant with a long history of working in Japan, in marketing, communications & public relations, for the last few years Julia has been focused on the leisure, travel & tourism industry; specifically, high-end inbound ‘western’ visitors to Japan. As a former resident of Sendai, and given that her family-by-marriage are from a small Aomori village, Julia is particularly interested in encouraging inbound visitors to travel away from the ‘Golden Route’ to areas such as Tohoku.
