BIO: 

Austin Auger was born on the U.S. Navy base in Atsugi, Japan, and was raised in Kanagawa Prefecture, attending Japanese public schools until the age of 15. He later returned to the United States, completed his university education, and earned a master’s degree in business and management.

Austin has built a diverse international career spanning corporate leadership, logistics, supply chain management, and project support in both the U.S. and Japan. He has spent over 32 years living and working in Japan, including serving as Representative Director for CB&I / McDermott Japan, and currently serves as APTIM Japan Branch Representative Director supporting Japan- and Guam-related activities.

Austin also represents Global Supply Chain Solutions in San Diego, California, and works closely with Jarman International as a partner, senior consultant and instructor, delivering cross-cultural leadership and management training programs for Japanese corporations and multinational teams. His expertise includes leadership development, global communication, stakeholder alignment, and supporting organizations operating across Japanese and Western business environments.

Outside of work, Austin enjoys cooking, hiking, camping, gardening, traveling, watching movies, and learning about cultures and global business practices.

Experiencing Japanese culture firsthand while building meaningful relationships across industries, and sharing his knowledge and experience to Japanese university students and corporate professionals in developing global leadership capability.

Favorite Place to Visit in Japan: 

The countryside and coastal areas—especially regions that reflect Japan’s traditional lifestyle and natural beauty, including ancestral locations in Gifu, Gunma, and Kanagawa Prefectures.
