BIO:
As a successful consultant with a long history of working in Japan, in marketing, communications & public relations, Julia is now focused on the leisure, travel & tourism industry; specifically, high-end inbound ‘western’ visitors to Japan. As a former resident of Sendai, and given that her family-by-marriage are from a small Aomori village, Julia’s focus is to not only encourage inbound visitors to travel away from the ‘Golden Route’ to areas such as Tohoku, but also to prepare these areas to understand and cater to the luxury travel market.
Favorite Thing About Living in Japan:
Other than the food and incredible diversity of the natural landscape, I love that not a week goes by that I don’t see something that surprises, delights, entertains me, or makes me question my beliefs.
Favorite Place to Visit in Japan:
So many places! But if I had to pick one it would be the Izu Peninsula – lovely beaches, beautiful walks, delicious seafood, rustic onsen and interesting history. Plus it is close enough to Tokyo to visit frequently
