As someone who’s lived in the Shonan area for over ten years, regular trips to Enoshima Island were par for the course. My only regret was that it took me as long as it did to discover the island’s true hidden gem: Enoshima Island Spa. For less than 3000 yen, you can spend an entire day relaxing in one or all of their various indoor and outdoor pools, as well as their sauna. The pools have marvelous views of the beach and ocean, and on a clear day one can even gaze upon Mt. Fuji.

“Enospa”, as it’s regularly called, is a Japanese onsen resort located just an hour from central Tokyo. In addition to the mineral-rich natural hot springs that fill their pools, pumped from 1,500 meters below the ocean, one can also find relief with a variety of treatments at their Beng Teng Spa and Yumemi Shiatsu Salon. Hungry? Try one of their cafes or even fine dining at their Island Grill Restaurant. Winter illumination on Enoshima island started on November 28th this year. Lights around the Enoshima Sea Candle will be up until January 31st, 2016. Don’t miss this romantic and lovely event. It is chosen as one of the three major illumination spots in the Kanto area by the Night View Summit, which evaluates night views throughout Japan.

Over 40,000 will light up the Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden on top of the island near the lighthouse every night from 17:00 until Sunday, 1 February. It would be lovely to take a walk up to the garden and explore the island.

So when you visit Enoshima Island Spa up until the 1st of February, you can enjoy a relaxing natural hot bath in the cryspy winter air, while watching the sunset behind Mount Fuji, with the added bonus of viewing the lovely illuminations around the island. Especially in the winter time we have many clear days with a good view of the snowed Mt.Fuji!

Our Night Spa discount currently starts from 6pm. Only with 1,705 yen per person, you have access to pools and hot spring facilities. (A part of the outside pool area is closed during winter season.) Towels and a spa robe included with entrance. Rental swimsuits are available with 540 yen-. No reservation is required for entrance.
