]]> Ruth Marie Jarman to Serve as Keynote Speaker at July 4 Edo Kaido Project SymposiumOn July 4, 2022, Jarman International CEO, Ruth Marie Jarman, will serve as a keynote speaker at the Edo Kaido Project Symposium. The event will kick off a new tourism effort spearheaded by Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to promote the food, culture, history, and traditions of the Kanto Region.

In addition to Ruth’s speech on ways to attract inbound tourists to areas along the Edo Kaido (five historical roads of Edo (the former name of the city of Tokyo)), the symposium will feature a talk about Edo culture and hot springs, an introduction to successful tourism projects conducted in the region thus far, and a panel discussion on regional revitalization through the promotion of Edo Kaido-centered touristic activities.

]]> Ruth Marie Jarman joins a new tourism effort to help promote the Kanto Region! (Edo Kaido Project)On May 19, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism officially announced the beginning of a new tourism project for the Kanto region. This project will aim to promote the food, culture, history and traditions of areas along the Edo Kaido, which refer to the five highways that span across the Kanto region (all starting from the Nihonbashi Bridge). Over 400 years ago, feudal lords often traveled the Edo Kaido when they were obliged to live in the capital city of Edo for several months during the year (a rigid system called sankin-kotai).

Jarman International CEO Ruth Marie Jarman has been selected to join this “Edo Kaido” tourism project to help create innovative ways to share the Kanto Region’s priceless beauty to the world.
