Tokyo Named Most Sustainable City, Japan Named Second Most Sustainable Country

Each year the IESE Business School in Spain publishes its  Cities in Motion Index (ICIM), which “measures the future sustainability in major world cities and the quality of life of its inhabitants”.  This year Tokyo has been named number one on the ICIM due to its strengths in public management, technology, economy, and ability to attract international talent.  Osaka was named eight most sustainable city on the ICIM, making Japan the second most sustainable country after Switzerland.

Japan clearly has strengths in creating sustainable cities, making Japan’s upcoming Smart City Week: Social Innovation 2014 an extremely valuable event for those seeking to create smarter, more sustainable cities.  To register, click here.
