Favorite Place to Visit in Japan: Most visited: Hakone (best easy day trip from Tokyo); Favorite onsen town: Kusatsu; Favorite onsen trip of all time: Nyuto Onsen in Akita. I also visit Osaki Shimojima in the Seto Inland Sea area frequently as my wife’s family live there and have cycled the Shimanami Kaido and Tobishima Kaido a number of times.
BIO: Andrew has visited all of Japan’s prefectures. He loves traveling and trying new, local foods and drinks — especially craft beer. His ideal trip is a ryokan with an in-room onsen with pure (gensen kakinagashi) onsen water.
